BMC AMI Storage IAM 11.x: Fundamentals Concepts (WBT)
BMC AMI Storage IAM is a high-performance indexed access method for z/OS® that can be used in place of VSAM KSDS or VSAM ESDS data sets for batch, TSO, and online processing. It offers numerous advantages over the IBM® provided VSAM access method.
The IAM technique uses a unique underlying file structure and data organization. This invention yields considerable, validated performance advantages when combined with performance-oriented algorithms and coding techniques.
This web-based course helps learners understand the fundamental concepts of IAM and the working of IAM files, the advantage of IAM over VSAM, and the IAM VSAM interface. The course introduces learners to the IAM dataset structure and the support functions of IAM.
